It involves fine needles, so we won't pretend there's no sensation at all. Most clients describe it as mild discomfort rather than pain. We typically apply a numbing cream beforehand to keep you comfortable throughout, and we'll always check in with you during the session. You can expect some redness and a warm, slightly sunburnt feeling in the treated area for a day or two afterwards, and in some cases very fine pinpoint marks from the needles that fade quickly. Most clients are comfortable returning to normal activities the next day, but we'll give you specific aftercare guidance based on your skin and your session.

Both use radiofrequency energy, but they deliver it differently and treat different depths. RF microneedling uses fine needles to deliver that energy at a controlled depth within the skin, alongside the collagen-triggering effect of the needling itself. RF skin tightening applies radiofrequency at the surface with a handheld device, with no needles involved. If you're mainly after gentle firming with zero needles, RF skin tightening may suit you better. If skin texture and firmness together are your focus, RF microneedling is usually the more targeted option. We'll help you choose the right fit at your consultation.

Collagen remodelling takes time, so results build gradually rather than appearing overnight. Most clients complete a course of sessions spaced a number of weeks apart, and notice skin texture and firmness improving progressively as their skin responds. We'll talk through a realistic timeline for your skin specifically when you come in.
